Hint on how to come to a realistic offer:-
Negotiating a fair price for a large inventory of second-hand household items can be challenging. Here are some tips to help you determine a good offer:
- Research similar items: Look at prices of similar items on platforms like eBay, Gumtree, or Facebook Marketplace to estimate the value of the stock.
- Calculate the total inventory value: Assign a price to each item or category and calculate the total value. Consider the condition, demand, and original prices.
- Consider calculating a fixed value per lot: Assign a value for each listed lot(eg. $25 per item) and multiply it by the number of lots. Keeping in mind that many lots have multiple items in the displayed lot. (see this example that has 4 items in stock)
- Assess the condition and potential resale value: Evaluate the overall condition and potential resale value of the items.
- Suggest your target price: Based on your research, set a realistic target price for the entire stock.
- Be prepared to negotiate: Be flexible and open to negotiations. Make an initial offer, and be prepared to adjust based on the seller’s response.
Given the large quantity of items (over 4800), they are already packed in numbered boxes that coincide with the stock number. So you will not need to pack the items or organise them, so the items are easy to find. Thus, when you see the SKU number 7070-270 you see the lot number 7070 and the box number 270.
